Fizz-Tastic!!

On Friday we did a science experiment. We put baking soda and citric acid into a tissue and put this into a plastic bag. This was to delay the reaction. Next we added water. It started to foam up and the bag puffed up. When the water was added to the baking soda and citric acid, it caused a chemical reaction that produced a gas called carbon dioxide.  This chemical reaction made the bag go really cold!!     Billie and Ava

A snippet of our ANZAC writing...

My ears exploded with agony as the sound of death whizzed through the air.  Squelching footsteps echoed through the muddy trench as the General barked orders.  Wounded men were dragged in screaming in pain, as red and orange illuminated the sky,  as the sun fell.
Luke Smith and Thomas Benson

We suddenly heard pings and whizzes of bullets shooting through the air that was filled with bright orange sparks.  There were footsteps in all directions through the mud and then boom!
Ruby McLachlan and Ava Hay

The trenches seem like a smelly prison.  With crumbly walls and rotting wood that could break down at any moment.
Yasmin Coombe

I got to the top of the challenging ladder and froze.  I was at the front of No Man's Land.  All beside me were soldiers looking very scared, when we looked at each other.  We all knew we had to run!
Lukas Henderson

We slowly moved towards the shore in darkness, wondering what was ahead of us.  All we could hear was guns firing, and in the distance we could see shells falling.
Charlotte Laming

We suddenly heard the screeching whistle blow.  I can see a blend of yellow and orange explosions close by.  Whizzing sparks through the air and deep footprints everywhere.  I can hear the mens miserable shouts and more bullets flying through the air.
Saffron Millar

Surrounding me is the slightly teared and battered tent, with the cold wind seeping through the fabric.  I know this tent won't last and I'll have to move onto another patient soon, but I never know where to start.  Because the screams and pleading cries for help never seem to fade away.

*BIKING*

Biking skills with Kirsty Barr was fun and a learning experience! We biked around Kirimoko Park and then we moved onto intersection skills on the way to the lake. We learned what do at left intersections and right intersections. When we got to the lake front, we had a short stop and had a blast in the colourful leaves! Sadly it was time to head back to school but we got  to do some free riding! All in all it was great, and we would like to thank Kirsty, Constable Vink, and all the parents that took their time to help us with this fun activity!             Luke and Lukas

*VOLLEYBALL*

For Kids Games we are practising our volleyball skills in the W*P*S Hall. The coaches showed us how to set, dig and  hit the ball over the net. We went in groups of three and practised how to pass the ball to each other. We all had lots of fun!!!!!    Ben H and Thomas B

*Casus Circus* (Festival of Colour)

We wrote some 'tweets' about the Casus Circus performers that worked with us.  Tweets have to have between 100 and 140 characters...

They pushed us around to be stiff like raw spaghetti. When we did bunk beds we had to use our muscles. #whentheydiditlookedeasy#butnot#
Ruby and Saffron

We learnt to be super stiff with our tummy’s straight. We needed to know this for most of the acrobatic tricks.
#reallyfun #we learnt lots!!!

We watched quietly as the circus performers did their surfboard act. We learned new tricks and how to balance on backs and bellies.
#PURE FUN
 Luke and Thomas B

We were told to be as stiff as a piece of raw spaghetti. We balanced on each other’s backs.
